March 19th Public school Half Day: Sounds all Around (PS321 ONly)
Shhh….Listen to the amazing sounds around us every day! In this special half-day program, scientists will learn about the physics of sound! We’ll explore how sounds get around and test our sound “IQ” by trying to identify different sounds. We’ll explore how different materials carry vibrations and design a one-of-a-kind instrument to play until the air is filled with hilarious vibrations! This full day program promises to be OUTTA THIS WORLD! We’ll take a trip through the solar system to feel the massive pull of our favorite star, explore UV light, watch plasma in action and have a Planet Dance Party! APRIL BREAK: CALLING ALL PLANET PROTECTORS! (4/6 - 4/10)
We’ll break environmental challenges into bite-sized pieces and brainstorm solutions! Build a solar powered house as you learn about fossil fuels, learn how to eat green in a Tisci “Supermarket”, earn your Dirt Dynamo badge and send a picture or a letter to the EPA!
