We create meaningful, hands-on opportunities for staff, young scientists, and their families to engage with local and global issues—empowering them to make a positive impact in the world around them.
As a small business rooted in Brooklyn, we’re proud to grow this initiative with care and intention, making it a sustainable part of our broader mission: to foster a lifelong love of science through experiential learning. Together, we’re not just teaching science—we’re living it.
Coney Island Beach Clean Up : World Oceans Day
At The Tiny Scientist, we support the NY Aquarium beach clean-up initiatives! We visited climate advocacy organizations at the NY Aquarium boardwalk, went on a trash treasure hunt, sifted out microplastics, and put them where they belong - in the TRASH! Our amazing scientists gained firsthand knowledge of environmental stewardship and the impact of community activism.
Together, our incredible team managed to haul away a whopping 210 pounds of trash!
MAY Tumble: Joke - A - Thon
The Tiny Scientist partnered with Tumble Science Podcast for Kids to host the Joke-Ha-Thon Tournament on May 28th—a science-inspired showdown of laughter!
The Tiny Scientist has been asked by the Tumble Team to nominate 5–10 classrooms to be assigned to contestants.
Ten incredible contestants—podcasters, science communicators, and educators went head-to-head in an epic battle of groan-worthy, giggle-inducing dad jokes, with kids as the judges!

The Friends of United Nations World Oceans Day (FOWOD) is an informal community of individuals and organizations active in the field of ocean affairs to support the marking of United Nations World Oceans Day (UNWOD) and related activities.
Founded in 2006, Peace Boat US works to build a culture of peace and sustainability around the world by connecting people across borders and creating opportunities for learning, advocacy and cooperation.
