After School Science at P.S. 282

Our after school programs offer young scientists a multidisciplinary chance to build fine motor skills, develop an understanding of scientific principles, build vocabulary, work together with other scientists and engage in scientific discussion. We'll take scientists on a trip through the water cycle, learn how volcanoes work, experience the life cycles of insects and the amazing journey plants take as they grow from seeds! Recycling helps us turn trash into treasure! We’ll make a chemical reaction “worm” that has us grossed-out and giggly and we’ll figure out how to hold a bubble! Along the way, we’ll analyze data we collect as we mix, measure, ask questions and have a ton of FUN! We offer:

  • ENGAGING HANDS-ON SCIENCE IN A LIGHT, RELAXED, ATMOSPHERE

  • CURRICULUM CREATED AND TAUGHT BY LICENSED TEACHERS

  • SMALL CLASS SIZE

  • BRAIN-FOOD SNACKS
