SPRING AFTER SCHOOL SCIENCE REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
March 14th Parent/Teacher 1/2 Day Program: The SOUNDS AROUND!
In this workshop, we will use our sense of sight, touch, and hearing to explore the science of sound. Scientists will learn the physics of sound to better understand the awesome auditory world, test their "SOUND IQ" by trying to identify different animal sounds and design a unique noise maker to play until the air is full of hilarious sound waves!
Cost is $45 per student and the program will go from 11:30 -2:45pm. We will continue our After School Science program as normal following our half day program.
After School Science at P.S. 282
Our after school programs offer young scientists a multidisciplinary chance to build fine motor skills, develop an understanding of scientific principles, build vocabulary, work together with other scientists and engage in scientific discussion. We'll take scientists on a trip through the water cycle, learn how volcanoes work, experience the life cycles of insects and the amazing journey plants take as they grow from seeds! Recycling helps us turn trash into treasure! We’ll make a chemical reaction “worm” that has us grossed-out and giggly and we’ll figure out how to hold a bubble! Along the way, we’ll analyze data we collect as we mix, measure, ask questions and have a ton of FUN! We offer:
